What is Astrology?

• Astrology is: the practice of studying the movements and positions of celestial bodies—like the sun, moon, planets, and stars—based on the belief that they influence human behaviour, personality, and earthly events

• Birth Chart (Natal Chart): A personalized map of where your planets and stars were positioned at the exact moment and location of your birth.

• Horoscope: A brief intuitive forecast or reading, based on zodiac signs and planetary positions at the time of reading.

• Science, History and Pseudoscience Status: While it shares ancient roots with astronomy, modern science classifies astrology as a pseudoscience because it lacks empirical and rational evidence  **(for now..)

• Historical Roots: Dating back over 4,000 years to ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt, it was used to track seasons, divine omens, and map human life paths. Many Kingdoms, Eras, Wars and even more recently documented evidence of its use in WW1 and WW2.

​Does Astrology Function Like a Language?​

• Yes: modern practitioners and enthusiasts frequently describe astrology as a symbolic language rather than a literal spoken tongue or a hard science.

• A Vocabulary of Symbols: Astrology uses a structured set of symbols and archetypes.

• The planets act as the "whats": the core drives or energies

• The zodiac signs act as the "hows": the style or expression

• The houses represent the "wheres" life arenas or domains

• Grammar and Syntax: Just as words combine to form sentences, astrological elements combine into aspects and charts

• An astrologer "reads" a birth chart: like a sentence or a script to interpret human psychology or life patterns.
